Monday the 17th June 2013. Not a date that instantly jumps out as a date to remember. Though after a quick internet search I found out some fairly big historic events:

1991 - South Africa abolishes last of its apartheid laws

1988 - Microsoft releases MS DOS 4.0

1947 - Pan Am Airways chartered as 1st worldwide passenger airline

1939 - Last public guillotining in France. Eugen Weidmann, a convicted murderer, is guillotined in Versailles outside the prison Saint-Pierre

We can now add to this list a pretty seismic event for Paul Roberts Wines - the launch of our very first e commerce website. What seemed like a fairly straightforward task quickly turned into a much bigger operation (especially when many of the wines we stock are rare and hard to find). Though our aims resolutely remained constant throughout. To offer our restaurant quality wines at great prices via a simple, clean and easy to use website, with secure payment facility and delivery. We especially wanted all of the images on the site to be clear and crisp. Much better to be able to browse without squinting at the screen.

Since 1985 we have specialised in supplying restaurants and the trade delicious wines that can't be found on the high street. We can now supply these wines much more easily across the UK. We love trying different wines and only if they offer great value for money do we bring them in for sale.

I will be using this blog to share with you our latest finds, special offers, awards, and videos of Paul talking to you about our wines.

So take a look around the site. If you are not sure about anything or require something different, send us an email or call us.

Otherwise, don't forget that date, 17th June 2013. Not quite up there with abolishing apartheid but who knows what the future has in store....
