Masons Original Dry Yorkshire Gin is a deliciously dry gin with a distinctly different flavour combination. New to Paul Roberts Wines April 2017. Each 70cl bottle has been individually hand numbered and signed off.

Created by husband and wife duo, Karl and Catherine Mason as their goal was something distinctive and not "your run of the mill, off the shelf, generic gin".

Using Harrogate spring water along with juniper (some harvested from their own bushes) and a combination of secret botanicals, the resulting gin is contemporary in style and packed with flavour. Aromas of liquorice, pepper and coriander are present on the nose, with fennel opening up on the palate and more liquorice, juniper and pine. On the finish there is a little smokiness, a hint of parma violet and malty notes almost reminiscent of whisky.

A fantastic new addition to the category, garnish with orange (never lime) or try one of the suggested serves, below:

Mason Smash
Shake 1.5 measures of Masons Yorkshire Gin, half a measure of Lillet Blanc, 1 measure of Lime Juice, 1 measure of Blackberry Syrup, 3 blackberries, 3 basil leaves and 3 mint leaves, along with a couple of twists of black pepper over ice. Strain. Garnish with blackberry and basil leaf.

Bloody Masons!
Pour 2 measures of Masons Yorkshire Gin into a glass. Add a dash of Tabasco and a dash of Yorkshire Sauce, the juice of a whole lemon, and top off with Spicy Tomato Juice.

Gin Yorkshire Rose
Take 1 measure each of Masons Yorkshire Gin and Cointreau, add a wedge of fresh orange and a little sugar syrup. Garnish with a white rose petal.
