Update from Paul Roberts Wines, September 2016:

"Well this is a great wine, you may have first discovered it via Waitrose/ Ocado - we have just secured the last remaining stocks of this highly rated and loved 2013 vintage and we don't believe you can now buy 2013 anywhere else in the UK, and certainly not for a better price"

A blend of Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, Alfrocheiro and Cabernet Sauvignon.

After separate fermentation of each grape variety, following a traditional method of winemaking, and using small stainless steel vats for fermentation, the wine was then aged for 12 months in French and American oak casks. Lively in colour, intense and deep, it is rich, concentrated, complex and long on the nose and in the mouth. Notes of cherry, blueberry and plum come through, combined with floral and vanilla nuances. It has a balanced acidity, with a firm and elegant structure,

A mouth filling wine with soft, sweet, fine tannins and a lasting finish.

2016 DWWA Silver (2013 Vintage), 2015 IWC Commended (2013 Vintage), 2015 DWWA Silver (2013 Vintage).

Press quotes:

"A dense Portuguese red, this delivers a lot of flavour and pleasure for a fair price. Rich and ripe with spicy black fruits, its sweetly fruited, very moreish and an ideal pairing for barbecued sausages." - Jamie Goode (Sunday Express, September 2013)

"This is one of the finest red table wines - and at a keen price. With lovely hedgerow fruit and a touch of spice on the finish, this is a suave, medium weight Iberian charmer." - Matthew Jukes (Daily Mail, March 2013)
