Well, the 2009 version of the fabulous Fleur du Thénac Rouge certainly had a high number of fans. Sadly it is now sold out. Paul Roberts Wines are delighted to now stock the 2012 vintage from April 20th 2016.

A colour of deep and vibrant ruby. The nose to this wine is ripe with black cherry and blackcurrant notes, layered with cocoa and touches of wood-smoke. The palate has a juicy black fruit core, with hints of plum and red cherry, and is textured by silky smooth, refined tannins. This is vibrant and fresh, with real precision and length. On the finish there are touches of vanilla, and a touch of smoky spice.

Once again, like the 2009 vintage, this is a knockout wine from Chateau Thenac with real purity and balance. Some may say better than the 2009. There is a slight difference between the 2 vintages but the signature fruit concentration and freshness is present and correct. Production volumes of the 2012 are significantly lower so don't expect it to be available too long.

"Dark crimson. Round and spoilt, classy stuff. Tastes as though no expense had been spared – and I’m sure it wasn’t. Long and refreshing on the finish". Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, March 2016
