Today's date is the 21st June. Heard it described on the radio as a precious day. Why? Well it is the longest day of the year. So yes, precious. Certainly precious for those making the annual pilgrimage to Stonehenge. Pondering the definition of precious I discovered the following:

1. Of high cost or worth; valuable.

2. Highly esteemed; cherished.

3. Dear; beloved.

Precious may connote for you thoughts of platinum rings, diamonds, silks, treats even. It more than likely, and perhaps most of all, make you misty eyed thinking of the people who you hold most dear.

Can wine too be precious? Scanning the definitions above, I would say so, despite my obvious bias. Indications could be its awards, or if it is globally renowned. What about those wines you just love? Or one that you tasted on great holiday, with a great meal or as part of a special celebration.

What if it was produced in a particular year (vintage)? Many wines are clearly distinguishable from the year they were produced, so much so that other vintages just don't cut it. What if these vintages were about to disappear forever? It is our public service to tell you which precious wines in our range are about to run out. Never fear, check out our newly created limited stock section.

Grab these precious gems whilst you can, unlike the longest day they won't be making a reappearance in 2014.
