This is an elegant, unoaked Mâcon-Charnay. Ripe citrus notes on the nose, with a complex palate which balances richness with a gently herbaceous and mineral streak.
Food Match: Ideal with a puff pastry chicken pie, or with roast belly pork.

This may be a little past its absolute best, with a certain sweetness establishing itself in place of the mineral notes I'd have preferred to find. I'm afraid this one didn't quite live up to its elegant label, but I'd be prepared to try a more recent vintage on another occasion.Jonathan Hunt
